F.E.A.R. 2 : Project Origin

You just got to love Alma. When Max started playing F.E.A.R on the pc, we were quite petrified by this terrifying little red riding hood. We have seen the beauty of Alma when she walked through the fiery corridors and not to mention the numerous JUMPS that forced us to swear profusely to the little girl (ARGH! ALMA YOU LIL' $&*^%!!!). We were excited when F.E.A.R. went multiplatform, now Alma returns again in F.E.A.R. 2 : Project Origin. Will it be another crowning achievement?

Here's an exclusive Digital Comic trailer from Gametrailers.com. Not for the weak hearted and people who can't stand little annoying kids that haunt you.

Anyone seen the love of my life?

Rosie - The former cabaret singer turned Gungho soldier

I remember Max talking about a bar singer in the game. Valkyria Chronicles is one game we can't wait to hold (apparently, if you saw our Top 10 list). The unique cast of characters caught our eyes and Rosie is no exception. She may be talking tough and is a military commander, her singing voice makes it seem almost unbelievable. It's as if a reminder of how it was like before the war began. Listening to her voice, we are very sure this game will have an awesome soundtrack. Here's a trailer introducing Rosie.

"Still Alive" - Mirror's Edge Theme Song

Listen to the acoustic version of Mirror's Edge theme song sung by Lisa Miskovsky. It fits well with the beautiful white enviroment and it almost makes you feel like you are floating. Game music is vitally important in developing the atmosphere of the storyline and the gameplay. "Still Alive" is a perfect tribute to free runners who stare in the face of danger. They fight the impossibilities.

Famitsu releases new Final Fantasy XIII scans

Finally! Some new Final Fantasy XIII updates. Undoubtedly these new scans look awesome. We can see the main characters Lightning, Snow and Sera in the mix. But who is that woman in the last pic. Readers, any more news on this mysterious character, whether villain or ally, we will deliver as soon as we find it.

But wait! just to be sure and to avoid the same mistake I did with Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2 : Sons of Liberty, is she really a woman or a man? Though the long white hair seem to obscure the gender (I'm pretty sure she's female), it does remind me of a certain Katana wielding super villain in Final Fantasy VII.

New Killzone 2 Trailer

Prepare to attack Helghan. In this trailer, we have seen some heavy screwed up #$%^ for a planet. The Helghast looked as fearsome as in the last trailer. Now with the new design, we will definitely anticipate for this awesome shooter.

Guitar Hero World Tour released.. with some slight issues.

Time to rock some more! Some of you might be getting Guitar Hero World Tour in full set. Personally I'm just getting the guitar controller (seeing that I am a guitar fanatic. I dislocated my finger in Guitar Hero 3, believe it?).

Minor problem though. Gaming forums are now flooding in with complaints of faulty instruments. This is no surprise though with Rock Band getting the same hype. Not to worry! Activision are already responsive and are quick to accept replacement for those with warranty. Here's some advice: Don't overuse it like crazy!

Zakk Wylde, you are a Metal God!

Guess what? There's a teaser trailer inside the game... for Guitar Hero : Metallica!

LittleBigPlanet released worldwide

Grab it at your first chance once it is in store. Run to your closest dealer. RUN! Without a doubt, the new release date is fixed with the new patch. So Goodbye Tapha Niang and your offensive lyrics (of which, honestly, I don't find really offensive. But the song's pretty upbeat for really morbid arabic.)

Top 10 we can't wait to play in November

It's almost November, it's time for some strong titles. Max and I have been looking at these games for awhile, so much that our hands are sweating to play them. Here's our Top 10 games we can't wait to play!

(10) Legendary

Go head to head in this First Person shooter against Griffins and wereworlves! It's like God of War all over again!

(9) Fallout 3

Return to world of Fallout with the Oblivion engine! Hell yeah!

(8)Tomb Raider Underworld

I'm talking about a Darker Lara Croft. After witnessing the destruction of Croft manor and a trailer featuring a really wacked out Lara, it's definitely promising to see some more Lara Croft action in the most violent manner.

(7) Guitar Hero: World Tour

All hail to The Godfather of Metal! With new gear to be released and a list celebraties in hand, this will be the first ever Guitar Hero to feature some of the most wanted Master Tracks. That's right, No Covers!

(6) Resistance 2

It's beautiful, its hideous, and it's called The Leviathan!

(5) Mirror's Edge

Even free runners love it. This is one action piece that begs to be played. Have a little Faith.

(4) Call Of Duty: World at war

Back to WWII again. We love Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Meaning, we can't wait to experience WWII battlefields again.

(3) The Last Remnant

Your average RPG storyline, but a gameplay to boot! Battles are cinematic to look like Lord of the Rings.

(2) LittleBigPlanet

Build your own Sackboy, create your own levels, Old Snake & Sephiroth & Nariko & Kratos. What reason can you say for us not to buy the game? (The price, maybe?)

(1) Valkyria Chronicles

What do you get if you cross an Anime fantasy with WWII, then have Norse mythology in the mix? Its original title "Valkyrie of The Battlefield" caught our attention instantly. As for visuals, you have the first Cel shaded PS3 game with a unique watercolour painting look that could match a storybook.

Army of Two made into film

Universal Pictures will bring this action-packed PS3 game to the big screen. The story will be penned by Scott Burns who wrote for Bourne Ultimatum to create a "Smart Thriller". We've seen what Bourne Ultimatum has to offer and we can say there's no need of worrying (until they get the director that is). Army of Two has been in our targets long since its release. Not to worry, we will someday!

Max: We are talking about a game listed in X-play's top 5 games for real men!

We would love to catch this film in action. This won't be the only game that will be adapted to film. You still got BioShock (Gore Verbinski of Pirates of the Carribean fame), Halo, The Sims (yes, that game too) and possibly Dead Space too.

Army of Two.. a real men's game

Bioshock 2 releases in multiplatforms

First time I played Bioshock on the PC was such a sweet memory. The plane crash.. then entering Rapture.. this is how First Person Shooters should be: Very Cinematic. Already, you can find Bioshock for the PS3 in the mall (it's about time)! I get to see all the amazing visuals again, fight Big Daddies and commit kid murder, shoot masked freaks and immerse myself in the Chaotic world of Rapture in HI-Def!Time to save up.

Now Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams is coming to the PS3! Here's the trailer for the anticipated sequel.

Even the title logo made me cry T_T..

Mirror's Edge

Free running in First-person, now that's cleverly thought of. These are one of those games that catch you by surprise. It has stunning visuals and a neat looking way to play the game but best of all, you got a looker as a runner.

You play as Faith, a courier in a world where communication are all monitored. You send important messages by foot and with her free running and acrobatic skills you will have to run through the city's rooftops to marked positions in high speed. Your sister is abducted, your parents were political activists and your job is criminal activity. Not so fortunate in Faith's case as she gets chased by the city's local enforcement. You are initially unarmed but luckily Faith has some martial arts in her belt. Use your skills to dodge bullets and disarm enemies.

This is Faith's city.. you're city.

What caught me most was the color scheme for the city, which was white and impossibly clean. Looking at it made me forget that this city is screwed up as how Faith explains it. Though, it reminded me of Japan. (Ladies and gentlemen, if Heaven on Earth existed, it's Japan). It's so clean and wide, its almost useless to dirty it with footprints. I wonder if the game will be non-linear. Will it give you freedom to roam around the rooftops? Or better, it's not limited to rooftops?

Maybe not one for those who are afraid of heights

I like the rush of adrenaline on heights, like Spiderman 3 or SSX3. The level of detail and complexity proves the difficulty of this game. But I believe the main importance of the game should be control fluidity. Will it be as easy and smooth as the trailer portrays?

Check it out.

Velvet Assassin

Based on a real life Allied Secret Agent, Velvet Assassin tells of a female agent named Violet Summer, after Violette Szabo, as she progresses through missions behind enemy lines.

This is stealth game set in World War II. How many games are there with you going all 'Tenchu' with Nazis? That's why I like this game.

Another HOT assassin

Here's a video from the game developer on his thoughts on Velvet Assassin.

Dead Space : On Hand Impressions

Dead Space is a game best played in the dark. This is very true. Playing horror games at night can be an awful ordeal. But if you want the thrill, you've got to! Ranging from Silent Hill to Clock Tower, the adrenaline rush can be an exciting experience when you play the game. The jumps intensify the game and the panic whenever you get surrounded always get you high. Best of all, beating your enemy to a pulp in the end feels very rewarding. (You damn Fish Demon! *Smash foot on face*)

Dead Space is what some of you might call it 'Resident Evil 4 with gravity boots', a 'BioShock inspired piece', but I call it 'Silent Hill in space'. This is Sci-fi horror at its best with an engaging storyline and immersive gameplay that will keep you at your toes, your eyes glued to screen even when they try to pull away.

Those who start playing for the first time are treated with fantastic visuals.

Max: "All of this, in just the FIRST chapter!"

It's like playing the PS3 for the first time again. The graphics were so flawless, you could almost feel the objects on screen. Surprisingly there are no displays overhead. You life gauge, Your armor, your ammo etc can all be found in the visuals. (You see the glowing lights coming out of his spine that looks like it's there for merely decoration? That's his life bar). The game is beautifully done to the tiniest detail, it can almost make you weep.

Strategic Dismemberment. They are really dead serious.

Remember the times you played Resident Evil 4 and pray for headshots? Headshots won't even kill them. Cut an arm or leg to render your enemy immobile is the objective to eliminate them. Or else, they'll keep bothering you till the end. Strategic Dismembering is the key element of this game, so think quick. A note of warning though, your enemies will try to do the same.

Checking menus or communication are done in real time. You can walk around even when you watch the hologram.

Storyline and item menus are done in hologram in game. Don't hope for a pause button when you are running out of oxygen and hunted by a nearby Necromorph. HUD elements are all done in real time, giving you the realistic cinematic experience you never expected.

Don't expect Zergling. They get smarter everytime!

What impressed us the most? The enemy AI are amazingly intelligent. Though they don't always come in groups, but be ready if you see one in a corner and find another one coming straight behind you. Then you realise, 'Did they act decoy and flank me?' If they come in multiple groups, prepare to be accurate to cut off some limbs with some quick thinking.

Max: This game is not for the feint of heart. These enemies will jump you every chance they get and they are very clever.

No one's going to save you in the dead reaches of space

The cinematic experience is killer amazing. CG rendered animations are so awesome and cutscenes are so well portrayed. Even in Zero Gravity, the sight of floating dead bodies and blood has this disturbing sense of elegance in it.

Max: "Can you believe it? Fighting in ZERO GRAVITY!"

Here's the trailer of the animated feature film, Dead Space: Downfall (prequel to Dead Space). Here's to give you an idea of what the game will be like and how the Necromorphs are like. Warning: Viewer Discretion is Advised.
